Job Description :

You will work closely with healthcare professionals and assist in delivering reproductive health services with a focus on pro-choice values.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers in performing medical procedures, examinations, and treatments in alignment with pro-choice principles.
  • Greet and prepare patients for their appointments, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or questions they may have in a caring and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Collect and record patient medical history, vital signs, pregnancy tests and other relevant information accurately and confidentially, maintaining electronic health records (EHR) with attention to detail.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment proficiently, adjusting settings to obtain optimal images while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Support physicians and clinicians in various clinical tasks, including patient intake, assisting with procedures, and providing patient education on reproductive health options.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and calibration of ultrasound equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues for timely resolution.
  • Prepare examination rooms, sterilize medical instruments, and ensure the clinic environment adheres to safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Support with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, and handling patient inquiries while upholding patient confidentiality and respect for privacy.
  • Assist in inventory management, ordering medical supplies, and ensuring proper stocking levels to support clinical operations.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate referrals, follow-ups, and coordination of care for patients as needed.
  • Uphold the clinic's pro-choice values by providing nonjudgmental, empathetic care and supporting patients' reproductive choices with dignity and respect.
  • Phlebotomy skills are a plus

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant and Ultrasound Technician in a clinical setting, preferably in reproductive healthcare.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic understanding of reproductive health issues.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care and respect for diversity.
  • Sensitivity to the confidentiality and emotional needs of patients seeking reproductive healthcare services.
  • Commitment to upholding the clinic's pro-choice philosophy and providing unbiased, patient-centered care.
  • Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and interpreting gynecological ultrasound images accurately.
  • Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to provide patient-centered care in a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Ability to multitask, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
